How each mode is recorded
- Flights. Great-circle arcs, distance, and time aloft. An OpenFlights CSV drops a decade of them onto the map in one import.
- Trains. Station-to-station legs that count toward your totals, from a commuter hop to a sleeper.
- Ferries. Port-to-port crossings, logged even if you were offline when you bought the ticket.
- Road trips. Routes and loops, so the drive is part of the record and not a gap between airports.
- Cruises. Itineraries with ports of call, kept with the rest of the trip.

Distance, countries, cities, and time in transit add up across every mode. The travel map draws them together, on a flat map or a 3D globe.
Older flights come in through the OpenFlights CSV. TripIt trips, including the ones that were not flights, come in through export and upload. Anything left over can be added by hand, with no capture cap, or forwarded if you still have the confirmation.
