On October 11, 2026, TripIt's homepage headline was "Organize your travel itinerary automatically." The primary action invited people to sign up free. The page walked through how an itinerary gets built, then alerts and guidance, and linked to How It Works, Pro, pricing, a blog, and a traveler resource center.
That is a strong fit if your trips already arrive as booking emails and you want them stacked into one itinerary.
Wendways starts earlier and ends later. Places can sit on a wishlist for years, then become a plan, then a trip you are on, then a line on a lifetime map. Flights, trains, ferries, road trips, and cruises share that map.
You can export TripIt trips and upload them, or import an OpenFlights CSV. New bookings arrive by forwarding a confirmation. Silver adds trip expense tracking and splitting: log what everyone paid and see who owes whom. Only the trip's owner needs Silver. Member is free forever, and the record exports anytime.
Stay with TripIt if the job you care about is an inbox-built itinerary for the next departure. Move the history to Wendways, or start there, if you want one record that still matters after you land, including travel that was never a flight.
