QUESTIONS

Before you board

Billing, captures, imports, and what happens to your trips if you change plans.

Does everyone on the trip need Silver to track and split expenses?

No. Silver adds trip expense tracking and splitting: log what everyone paid and see who owes whom. Only the trip's owner needs Silver. Once they have it, everyone on that trip can log expenses and settle up, including people on the free Member plan. Friends who don't use Wendways can still be included.

What counts as a booking capture?

A capture is when Wendways reads a booking for you: a forwarded confirmation email, a PDF, a screenshot, or pasted text. If we can't read it, it doesn't count. Adding trips and bookings yourself is unlimited on every plan, and so are OpenFlights and TripIt imports.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, in Settings, Billing, in a few clicks. You keep Silver until the end of the period you've paid for, and then your account moves to Member.

What happens to my trips if I go back to Member?

Nothing is deleted. Your trips, history, and files stay. If you're over the Member storage limit, everything stays readable and exportable. You just can't add new files.

What does "locked in" mean for Founding Members?

Your yearly price stays the same at every renewal, even if Silver's price goes up, for as long as you stay subscribed. If you cancel and come back later, the price at that time applies.

Do you offer refunds?

Canceling stops the next renewal, and we don't refund the rest of a period you've already paid for. There are exceptions, including a 14-day refund for new subscriptions by consumers in the EU, EEA, and UK. The Terms of Service have the full list.

Is my travel data used to train AI?

No. We don't use your content to train AI models, ours or anyone else's, and the AI providers we use keep no copy of your requests.

Which kinds of travel can I log?

Flights, trains, ferries, road trips, and cruises, plus stays, dining, and activities. They share one map and one set of lifetime stats.

How do I bring in trips from OpenFlights or TripIt?

OpenFlights is a CSV import: use Backup to CSV, then drop the file into Wendways. TripIt is an export-and-upload import, not a live connection. Export your trips with a small helper, upload them, and each one arrives as its own Wendways trip. Imports never count toward your booking captures.

Where is my data stored, and can I take it with me?

Your account data, databases, and backups are hosted in Singapore, and encrypted in transit and at rest. You can export the whole record as CSV or JSON, or a single trip as Markdown, on every plan.

Is Wendways a live flight tracker?

Wendways keeps the lifetime record: the trips you want, the ones you've booked, the days you're there, and the map afterward. It does not provide live flight status or gate alerts.

Plan details and the Founding Member offer are on pricing. The legal texts are the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
