Every trip has four lives: introducing Wendways
We've opened Wendways to everyone. Here's why we built it, what it does today, and why your travel history will always be free.

Today we opened Wendways to everyone.
It started with a mess. Our own travel history was split across an OpenFlights log, a TripIt account, a spreadsheet of train trips, and years of old booking emails. None of it connected to the long list of places we still wanted to see. So we built one place to keep all of it.
Every trip has four lives
Think about a trip you loved. It probably started years earlier as a “someday.” Then it turned into dates, bookings, and a pile of confirmation emails. Then you were there. Then it slowly turned into a memory, somewhere in a camera roll you rarely open.
Wendways stays with a trip through all of that:
- Want. Save a place you’d love to see from a Maps link, a route, or just a city name. It can wait on your wishlist as long as it needs to.
- Planning. When you’re ready, give it dates. Forward your booking confirmations and they land in the right trip, with times and seats filled in.
- Living. On the road, today’s plans are right there, and the whole trip shows up in your phone’s calendar.
- Remembered. Once you’re home, the trip stays on your map for good, next to every other one.
The longer you use it, the more it gives back. Your map shows you where you’ve been, and your wishlist reminds you where you’re going next.
Trains and ferries count too
Some of the best travel happens on the ground and on the water. Flights, trains, ferries, road trips, and cruises all go on the same map and add up in the same totals: miles, countries, and cities.
If you’ve been logging flights in OpenFlights, export your CSV and drop it in. We’ll match the airports, work out the distances, and show you any duplicates before anything is saved. Your TripIt trips can come across too.
What’s free, and what isn’t
Your travel history is free, and it stays free. That covers your map, your stats, imports, 25 forwarded bookings a month, and downloading everything as CSV or JSON whenever you like. We don’t show ads, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it to train AI.
If you want more, Silver is US$4.99 a month or US$49.99 a year. It adds trip expense tracking and splitting: log what everyone paid and see who owes whom (only the trip’s owner needs Silver). It also gives you 250 forwarded bookings a month, and adds more storage. Our first 500 Founding Members get Silver for US$39.99 a year, locked in. AI help with planning is coming soon.
Watch a map fill up
Starting today, Oct 14, we’re building one sample traveler’s history from an empty map over on X, a little each day for 12 days, until it holds 14 years of trips. It’s the easiest way to see what Wendways does.
If something’s missing or broken, please tell us. We’re a small team in Singapore, and we read everything.
